Tester Python (SIL 2) (w/m/d) in Braunschweig gesucht! ref. Nr. 4061!
The Story Behind the Role
Given the safety-critical SIL 2 environment in the railway industry, what are the most significant challenges a Tester Python (SIL 2) faces in ensuring absolute reliability, and how does the team collectively mitigate those risks?
That's a crucial question, and it really gets to the heart of what we do here. In a SIL 2 railway project, every line of code, every test case, has to be flawless. The biggest challenge isn't just finding bugs, it's anticipating scenarios that could lead to critical failures – we're talking about passenger safety. Our team tackles this by embedding testing deeply into our agile sprints, not as an afterthought. We foster a culture where developers and testers collaborate from the very first user story. We hold regular 'safety stand-ups' where potential risks are openly discussed, and we leverage advanced Python automation tools, continuously refining them. It’s a collective responsibility; everyone understands the stakes, which creates an incredibly focused and supportive environment where we all push for the highest standards.
How does the role of Tester Python evolve within the agile framework, especially concerning the development and maintenance of the test automation chain, and what opportunities are there for professional growth in this specialized area?
The beauty of our agile setup is that the Tester Python isn't just executing predefined scripts; you're an integral part of shaping our quality strategy. We see testers as engineers who are constantly innovating. When it comes to the test automation chain, you're not just using it; you're actively contributing to its evolution, helping to select new tools, write advanced scripts, and integrate them seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines. This means continuous learning – whether it's diving deeper into Python frameworks, exploring new testing paradigms, or even influencing architectural decisions for testability. We invest in our team's growth, offering training and opportunities to specialize further in areas like functional safety or advanced automation techniques, ensuring you're always challenged and developing cutting-edge skills.
