The Story Behind the Role

As an intern, how will my contributions directly impact etalytics' mission to reduce CO₂ emissions and improve energy efficiency for industrial companies?

That's a fantastic question, and it gets right to the heart of what we do! Even as an intern, your role in DevOps is foundational. Imagine you're helping to build the very pipelines that deploy our intelligent software. Every script you write, every monitoring dashboard you set up, every issue you help troubleshoot, directly contributes to the stability and reliability of our energy management solutions. When our software runs smoothly, our industrial clients can effectively optimize their energy usage, directly translating into reduced CO₂ and cost savings. You're not just learning tools; you're actively contributing to a more sustainable future, seeing the real-world impact of robust infrastructure.

What's the typical path or learning trajectory for an intern, especially considering the option for a working student contract afterward?

We're really invested in helping our interns grow into valuable team members. During your 3-month full-time internship, you'll be assigned a mentor who will guide you through our systems and projects. You'll start with structured tasks to get comfortable with our GitOps workflows, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools. The beauty is, you'll be working on real infrastructure, not just theoretical exercises. If you decide to continue as a working student, the learning deepens. You'll take on more complex tasks, potentially owning smaller projects, and integrate even further into our development cycles. Many of our full-time engineers started exactly this way, proving themselves through dedication and a hunger to learn. It's a clear pathway from learning to making a significant, ongoing contribution.

Description

Join etalytics and be part of the revolution in AI-powered energy management! We develop intelligent software leveraging cutting-edge IoT, data analytics, and AI to help industrial companies achieve greater energy efficiency, reduce CO₂ emissions, and cut costs.

We are seeking a proactive student in computer science or a related field for a 3-month full-time internship in DevOps Engineering. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with real infrastructure and modern DevOps tools, with the potential for a working student contract afterward. You will play a crucial role in building reliable, scalable, and automated systems for a sustainable future.

What You'll Do

  • **Infrastructure Basics (Hands-on):** Support in setting up and operating applications and Kubernetes environments, both on-prem and in the cloud. Learn GitOps workflows and work with tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
  • **Deployment Support:** Assist our developers in preparing and executing software releases.
  • **System Monitoring:** Create Grafana dashboards, work with Prometheus, and help visualize key application and infrastructure metrics.
  • **Troubleshooting & Reliability:** Analyze basic issues around logs, performance, and scalability, and support the identification and resolution of root causes.
  • **Automation:** Write small scripts, automate recurring tasks, and help improve our CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI).
  • **Collaboration:** Work closely with our development, QA, and customer success teams to ensure stable and user-friendly services.

What You'll Need

  • **Basic Kubernetes Knowledge:** First experience working with Kubernetes from university projects, a previous internship, or your own setups.
  • **Infrastructure as Code (Basics):** Some exposure to IaC tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux, Helm, or Terraform) is a plus.
  • **Monitoring Interest:** Eagerness to learn how to work with Grafana, Prometheus, and observability concepts.
  • **CI/CD Foundations:** Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or GitLab CI).
  • **Linux & Networking:** Comfortable using Linux and understanding basic networking fundamentals.
  • **Problem-Solving Mindset:** A methodical approach to debugging and troubleshooting, enjoying figuring out how systems behave.
