As a Gen AI Engineer at Cognizant, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge Generative AI and machine learning solutions. You will work with a team of talented engineers and data scientists to build and implement scalable, high-performance AI applications that solve real-world business problems for our clients. This is a hybrid role, offering a mix of remote and in-office work. Note: A specific location for this hybrid role has not been provided.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement advanced solutions using Large Language Models to enhance our product offerings and meet client needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate open-source LLMs into existing systems ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Apply AI and ML concepts to design and optimize algorithms that improve data processing and decision-making capabilities.
- Utilize GenAI basics to create innovative applications that address complex business challenges and drive growth.
- Write efficient and scalable Python code to support the development of robust software solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure high-quality deliverables and minimize errors.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies to continuously improve our development processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and adhere to best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and actionable plans.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 to 12 years of experience as a Sr. Developer or Engineer.
- Expertise in Large Language Models and open-source LLMs.
- Strong understanding of AI and ML concepts with a focus on practical implementation and optimization.
- Foundational knowledge of GenAI basics and their application in innovative solutions.
- Advanced skills in Python programming with a track record of developing scalable and efficient code.
- Experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or scikit-learn.
- Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) for tasks like text generation, parsing, and sentiment analysis.
- Experience in developing and deploying AI models and applications in production environments on cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.
